ION Digital Outdoor is a subsidiary of Harbert Realty Services, an independent commercial real estate firm headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Although always intrigued with the billboard industry, Harbert Realty Services disliked the limitation and static nature of the tradition billboard. With the advent of the light emitting diode (LED) and its application to digital advertising, Harbert created ION Digital Outdoor to capitalize on revolutionary technology, a flexible advertising medium and to give advertisers an independent option to the traditional outdoor media companies. Confident that our niche is in developing great billboard locations, we also know that filling them with full color digital ads, representing businesses, all day, every day, is right up our alley. ION currently has boards in the southeast, though expansion into other regions is fast approaching as we continue our journey through the world of digital outdoor advertising.
